homework?!

An 11 year old boy from NY named Ben Barrafato claims that children shouldn't get homework, it is not necessary and it can be done at school, which means school stays at school.

I disagree with Ben; I think homework should be given, but not as an obligation. Although it is a way to educate pupils to discipline, sometimes it puts a lot of pressure on the pupils and it even oppresses them. They do it only because they have to, without thinking, so the work is not worth it. If it wasn't so heavily restricted, the pupil would be able to concentrate better and fulfill his assignment to school in a better way.

Despite the unwelcomed nature of homework, sometimes it is good to allow the pupil (to) cope with the material himself, not only through the teacher's explanation, so he can understand better the material. This is why I think the pupil should have time during the lesson to work by himself immediately after the teacher has completed her explanation.
.
Besides, I think it depends on the subject as well, scientific subjects like math and physics have to be exercised a lot, unlike other subjects such as history (or) literature, etc.(מיותר) that shouldn't be exercised at home, the pupil can only read the material a few times a week at home and understand it well. I also think that a few projects once in a while wouldn't be bad, instead of homework all the time.

In conclusion, homework can carry out something well but in moderation. When it crosses the line it can be really irritating. Therefore, I think that homework should be given minimally without pressure. At the end of the day the one who cares and wishes to develop through homework will succeed and the one who neglects the importance of homework will probably understand his mistakes and learn a lesson.

Very well put, Hila. Great work! But where is your next assignment, that was due on the 13th???

space exploration

People tend to say that the sky is the limit when they crave for something very much. But for some others the sky is no longer an obstacle. Nowadays. many space explorations are being done(phr.) and spacecrafts are sent to space very frequently. But, the question is: are we improving our lives or worsening it by putting a lot of efforts into these space explorations?

There are many advantages of space exploration. People always yearned(ww.) to discover what is on the "other side" of the planet. A new species of creature(s), new possibilities and even a(מיותר) new life (forms) in the universe. Thanks to the(מיותר) space explorations people always learn more and more about space and its connection with earth. The technology level is increasing(phr. - "thanks to advanced technology..."), explorers use space to improve the quality of life on earth. By(ww.) satellites we can watch TV, use mobile phones and radios. We can get in contact with other countries, see them thousands of kilometers away. Also, we are able to forecast the weather around the world.

however, space exploration can be Dengerous(sp.) as well. There is a possible loss of life of astronauts that risk their lives on(ww.) space, also by the possibility of infection from alien viruses and bacteria that come from travels(ww.) in space, which could cause an irreversible damage to the(מיותר) humanity.(This sentence is too long and messay. Please rephrase it). Another disadvantage is the high costs of space exploration, which could be used to help other needs on earth or sponsor other important experiments, such as discovery of diseases factors, of medications, etc. money that is spent on space exploration instead.(The organization of this sentence is wrong. I don't understand where this last part: "money that is spent...", belongs.)

In conclusion, space may be very interesting and important to explore, and I believe people would never stop exploring it and it's good. But I also think that it should not be the main subject for explorers, (Start a new sentence here).I mean, people managed to live without it for millions of years, then not having all the answers and the knowledge today is not so bad.
