The person I chose to write my assay(sp.) about is my very close friend Rafael. He is one hundred years old and he is a holocaust survivor.I first met him when I was 6 years old. My mother started to work for his sister ,who was sick that time. today Rafi is like my 3rd grandfather, I love being with him, he teaches me a lot and he has a big influence on me.

When Rafi was young he was a very attractive man, he was tall, muscular and Charmin(sp.) and just the perfect gentleman (and he still is…). He is a very cultivated person , he loves to read the papers every day, to water his flowers ,to listen to old music and to visit his doctors and friends. Rafi was born in 1909 in Hungary and studied economy in the University,(start a new sentence here. You tend to have very long sentences) after a while he invented the tampon, since his parents had a bandage factory, and in the age of 30 he got captured by the Russian army along the Second World War. He immigrated to Israel after a number of years with his mother and sister and he always says that this was the part that he actually started living.

Rafi has a big heart, he is modest, kind, generous, honest and he has a great sense of humor , (start a new sentence here) he believes in democracy and in equal rights, he always knows what to say in every different situation and when he introduces himself to a woman or a little girl he takes his hat down(he always wears one), like I said…he is a gentleman.

Rafi is one of the most important people in my life, and he is a part of our family. when I am with him he makes me feel special. I feel very lucky, proud and grateful to have him in my life and I know that he feels the same way about me.
